THE CAPTAIN PAUL WATSON FOUNDATION UK was founded as Sea Shepherd UK in 2005 with our primary mission being the protection of marine wildlife and habitats around the UK's coastline and across the ocean via investigations followed by direct action and/or legal intervention. Our campaigns are supported by education, outreach, research activities and unrestrictive collaborations with like-minded NGOs, activists, enforcement agencies, government departments and international institutions.

Neptune's Pirates UK adheres to the utilization of non-violent principles in the course of all actions in the protection of the oceans.

This approach involves disrupting harmful activities such as illegal fishing and poaching, while also collecting evidence to support legal actions. We raise public awareness, advocate for policy changes, and collaborate whenever possible with law enforcement agencies and international organizations to effectively combat threats to the oceans

NON VIOLENT

NO COMPROMISE

Our charity’s funding is secured mainly from individual donors, foundations, trusts, legacies and occasionally via special fund-raising events.

We will never be subject to restrictive agreements with governments and corporations.

Our media and opinions will never be censored.

Life in the sea is at risk, and if the ocean suffers, so do we. Captain Paul Watson has been defending marine life for over 50 years using non-violent methods to stop illegal activities that harm sea creatures. His actions led to the Japanese whaling fleet leaving the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary. As a co-founder of Greenpeace and the founder of Sea Shepherd, he's one of the most successful marine conservationists of our time. Now, he's setting up the Captain Paul Watson Foundation, focused on defending and protecting marine life with a more efficient approach.
